Genesis 37:28 Then Midianite traders passed by. And they drew Joseph up and lifted him out of the pit, and sold him to the Ishmaelites for twenty shekels of silver. They took Joseph to Egypt.(ESV)
Joseph was sent by his father to check on his brothers, but his brothers didn’t receive him as a brother. They sold him as a slave. Betrayal moved Joseph far from home, but it didn’t move him beyond the hand of God. Years later, the road his brothers meant for harm became the road God used to preserve life. What people do in sin is still sin, but sin doesn’t have the authority to define what God can redeem.
