John 1:14 And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us, and we have seen his glory, glory as of the only Son from the Father, full of grace and truth.(ESV)
Abraham was called away from his father’s house. Moses was released from his mother’s arms. David was mocked by the brother he came to serve. Joseph was sold by the brothers he was sent to find. Each one was moved from the familiar before stepping into the purpose God had prepared. But they were only shadows of something greater. Jesus didn’t come as a distant stranger demanding trust from people He had never lived among. The eternal Son entered the world He made, was born into a human family, lived among neighbors, worked with human hands, and walked the ordinary road of human life before His public ministry began. Then He was rejected, not only by family, neighbors, leaders, and crowds, but all the way to the cross. Yet even that rejection didn’t defeat the purpose of God. It became the road of redemption. The valley before purpose is often where calling becomes compassion, and in Christ, we see the One who entered our valley to bring us home.
