Worship When Nothing Has Changed Yet

Habakkuk 3:17–18  (17)Though the fig tree should not blossom, nor fruit be on the vines, the produce of the olive fail and the fields yield no food, the flock be cut off from the fold and there be no herd in the stalls, (18)yet I will rejoice in the Lord; I will take joy in the God of my salvation.(ESV)

There’s a kind of worship that only rises after the answer comes, after the door opens, after the healing happens, after the provision arrives.  That kind may be gratitude, but it hasn’t yet been tested as worship.  Real worship can stand in the empty field, look at the barren tree, face the unanswered prayer, and still say, “Yet I will rejoice.”  Not because the loss isn’t real.  Not because the waiting doesn’t hurt.  But because God’s worthiness was never waiting on the outcome.

If worship only rises after the answer, it was never worship.  It was applause.

    Gratitude even in the face of adversity!

    Romiyim (Romans) 5:

    3And not only this, but we also exult in pressures, knowing that pressure works endurance;

    4and endurance, approvedness; and approvedness, expectation.

    5And expectation does not disappoint, because the love of Elohim has been poured out in our hearts by the Set-apart Spirit which was given to us.

Who am I?

I’ve walked a path I didn’t ask for, guided by a God I can’t ignore. I don’t wear titles well—writer, teacher, leader—they fit like borrowed armor. But I know this: I’ve bled truth onto a page, challenged what I was told to swallow, and led only because I refused to follow where I couldn’t see Christ.

I don’t see greatness in the mirror. I see someone ordinary, shaped by pain and made resilient through it. I’m not above anyone. I’m not below anyone. I’m just trying to live what I believe and document the war inside so others know they aren’t alone.

If you’re looking for polished answers, you won’t find them here.
But if you’re looking for honesty, tension, paradox, and a relentless pursuit of truth,
you’re in the right place.

If you’re unsure of what path to follow or disillusioned with the world today and are willing to walk with me along this path I follow, you’ll never be alone. Everyone is welcome and invited to participate as much as they feel comfortable with.

Now, welcome home. I’m Don.
