His Presence on the Road

Exodus 33:14  And he said, “My presence will go with you, and I will give you rest.”(ESV)

I can’t say with absolute certainty that every turn brought me exactly where God intended me to go.  I made choices along the way.  Some were wise, some were costly, and some were made because the road before me was the only one I thought was still open.

But I can confidently say that God is with me where I am now.  I see His hand in the timing, the provision, the people, and the opportunities that have come together.  My peace doesn’t come from believing that I understood every step correctly.  It comes from knowing that I haven’t been abandoned on the road.

God’s presence didn’t remove the road before Moses.  It meant that Moses wouldn’t walk it alone.  The same is true for us.  His presence doesn’t guarantee that the road will be easy, but it changes what our exhaustion means.

I’m tired, but I’m not lost.  I’m stretched, but I’m not forsaken.  There’s work still ahead, but I don’t carry it alone.

I may be nearing the end of my strength, but I’m not nearing the end of His faithfulness.  The God who carried me here will carry me forward.

And when the time comes, He will give me rest.

Who am I?

I’ve walked a path I didn’t ask for, guided by a God I can’t ignore. I don’t wear titles well—writer, teacher, leader—they fit like borrowed armor. But I know this: I’ve bled truth onto a page, challenged what I was told to swallow, and led only because I refused to follow where I couldn’t see Christ.

I don’t see greatness in the mirror. I see someone ordinary, shaped by pain and made resilient through it. I’m not above anyone. I’m not below anyone. I’m just trying to live what I believe and document the war inside so others know they aren’t alone.

If you’re looking for polished answers, you won’t find them here.
But if you’re looking for honesty, tension, paradox, and a relentless pursuit of truth,
you’re in the right place.

If you’re unsure of what path to follow or disillusioned with the world today and are willing to walk with me along this path I follow, you’ll never be alone. Everyone is welcome and invited to participate as much as they feel comfortable with.

Now, welcome home. I’m Don.
