A Time Such as This

Esther 4:14 For if you keep silent at this time, relief and deliverance will rise for the Jews from another place, but you and your father’s house will perish. And who knows whether you have not come to the kingdom for such a time as this?”(ESV)

There are many examples in the Bible where a person is called to be bold. The case of Esther was literal life and death. Esther could have died just for speaking to the king without being asked. Yet, if she was not willing to take the risk then all of her people would have been put to death.

The message from Mordecai was deceptively simple and so profound. On one hand, he told her that it was going to be ok if she was too scared to take the risk. The people of Israel would be saved through another path. On the other hand, that salvation would not include them because of her unwillingness to be obedient.

Simply put, God’s will is going to happen whether we are a part of it or not. If we let fear rule our lives then we will not see the benefits of that will. It may very well be that our entire purpose for being is found in a tiny moment of bold faith.

If God brings us to it, He will bring us through it. Will you be bold enough?

Who am I?

I’ve walked a path I didn’t ask for, guided by a God I can’t ignore. I don’t wear titles well—writer, teacher, leader—they fit like borrowed armor. But I know this: I’ve bled truth onto a page, challenged what I was told to swallow, and led only because I refused to follow where I couldn’t see Christ.

I don’t see greatness in the mirror. I see someone ordinary, shaped by pain and made resilient through it. I’m not above anyone. I’m not below anyone. I’m just trying to live what I believe and document the war inside so others know they aren’t alone.

If you’re looking for polished answers, you won’t find them here.
But if you’re looking for honesty, tension, paradox, and a relentless pursuit of truth,
you’re in the right place.

If you’re unsure of what path to follow or disillusioned with the world today and are willing to walk with me along this path I follow, you’ll never be alone. Everyone is welcome and invited to participate as much as they feel comfortable with.

Now, welcome home. I’m Don.
