He Doesn’t Heal What You Hide

Jeremiah 6:14  They have healed the wound of my people lightly, saying, ‘Peace, peace,’ when there is no peace.(ESV)

Floatie:  Not All Pain Gets Healed
God doesn’t heal everything.  At least, not yet—and not unconditionally.  He heals what is brought into the light.  He heals what we confess.  He heals what we surrender.

There are wounds we carry for years—not because God won’t heal, but because we won’t expose them.  And there are sins we no longer feel convicted by—because we’ve buried them so deep we no longer remember we’re bleeding.

Healing isn’t automatic.  It’s not magic.  It’s not yours just because you want to feel better.
Healing is relational.  Covenant-based.  And posture-dependent.  You don’t get healed because you’re tired of hurting.
You get healed because you’re ready to be holy.

✒️ Forge:  Brokenness Is the Key, Not the Obstacle

Psalm 51:17  The sacrifices of God are a broken spirit; a broken and contrite heart, O God, you will not despise.(ESV)

John 9:41  Jesus said to them, “If you were blind, you would have no guilt; but now that you say, ‘We see,’ your guilt remains.(ESV)

We’ve been fed a counterfeit gospel—one that says faith is about strength, confidence, and naming what we want until God bows to our declarations.  But real faith doesn’t shout demands.  It falls on its face.

God doesn’t heal what we pretend isn’t broken.  He doesn’t fix what we still excuse.  He waits for the moment we say, “I can’t.  I’m done.”  That’s when heaven moves.

Healing is not the result of certainty—it’s the result of surrender.  And sometimes, God doesn’t heal right away.  Not because we lack faith—but because the wound is still doing its work.  Some pain is not meant to be removed until it has taught the lesson it was sent to teach.

Even Paul had to keep the thorn.  And he asked—three times.
But God didn’t rebuke him.  He reoriented him:  “My grace is sufficient for you.”

⚒️ Anvil:  Hidden Sin, Unacknowledged Wounds
Hold this to the fire:

  • Is there something you’ve stopped being convicted by?
  • Is there a pain you no longer talk about—not because it’s gone, but because you’ve grown used to limping?
  • Is there a sin you’ve renamed so you can keep it?

Jesus healed many, but never without confrontation.  Sometimes He asked, “Do you want to be healed?”—because not everyone does.

Some just want the pain to stop.  They don’t want the heart to change.  They want relief, not repentance.

But relief without repentance is anesthesia without surgery.
It masks the pain long enough for the infection to spread.

God’s mercy always works with your honesty—not your fantasy.  He doesn’t bless the false version of you that you show to others.

🔥 Ember:  Jesus Only Heals What You Bring to Him
In every healing story, something was exposed.

  • The bleeding woman had to crawl through a crowd and reach.
  • Bartimaeus had to scream past the opinions of others.
  • The leper had to break quarantine and fall at Jesus’ feet.
  • The paralytic had to be lowered through a ceiling.

The exception?  The widow of Nain.
She never asked.  She may not have even hoped.  But her grief was visible.  Her loss was real.
And Jesus saw her and had compassion.

Even then—it wasn’t hidden.  It was unbearable.  And it moved the heart of God.

God may initiate healing.  But He waits for permission to complete it.
He will not violate your denial.  He will not override your pride.  He will not heal the thing you still defend.

🌿 Covenant Triumph:  Agreement Before Deliverance
The cross was planned before the foundations of the world.  But salvation doesn’t apply until the heart admits its need.

1 John 1:9  If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.(ESV)

Forgiveness is offered to all—but only received by the broken.  Healing is available to all—but only applied to the honest.

Jesus doesn’t heal behind your back.  He doesn’t sneak in, fix your sin, and sneak out.

He knocks.
He waits.
He exposes.

Then He heals.

Because healing without repentance would only deepen the illusion that we don’t need Him.  And He loves you too much to let that lie live in your bones.

Who am I?

I’ve walked a path I didn’t ask for, guided by a God I can’t ignore. I don’t wear titles well—writer, teacher, leader—they fit like borrowed armor. But I know this: I’ve bled truth onto a page, challenged what I was told to swallow, and led only because I refused to follow where I couldn’t see Christ.

I don’t see greatness in the mirror. I see someone ordinary, shaped by pain and made resilient through it. I’m not above anyone. I’m not below anyone. I’m just trying to live what I believe and document the war inside so others know they aren’t alone.

If you’re looking for polished answers, you won’t find them here.
But if you’re looking for honesty, tension, paradox, and a relentless pursuit of truth,
you’re in the right place.

If you’re unsure of what path to follow or disillusioned with the world today and are willing to walk with me along this path I follow, you’ll never be alone. Everyone is welcome and invited to participate as much as they feel comfortable with.

Now, welcome home. I’m Don.
