⚓ Floatie: The Pit is a Lie
Psalm 40:2–3 (2)He drew me up from the pit of destruction, out of the miry bog, and set my feet upon a rock, making my steps secure. (3)He put a new song in my mouth, a song of praise to our God. Many will see and fear, and put their trust in the Lord.(ESV)
✒️ Forge: The Truth Shaping Us
The world right now feels like a pit—dark, suffocating, and sticky with despair. Wars rage, families fracture, lies multiply, and it seems like the mire just keeps pulling harder. But Scripture reminds us that God is not afraid of mud. He steps right into it, not to lecture us from above but to pull us out. Jesus didn’t hover above the dirt; He spat on it, touched it, and healed with it (John 9:6). He entered the grave itself so that no pit could ever claim final ownership of us.
⚒️ Anvil: The Challenge
The danger isn’t just the darkness—it’s getting used to it. When the muck becomes familiar, we stop fighting to climb out. The call of Christ is to refuse the lie that the bog is our home. Lift your eyes, even when they’re heavy. Cry out, even when it feels pointless. God has always been faithful to answer the desperate cry of His people. He doesn’t wait until you’re clean. He comes because you are not.
🔥 Ember: My Witness
I know the pit. I’ve lain there so long I thought it was permanent. But every time—without fail—God has reached down, sometimes in the quietest whisper, sometimes in a violent shake, and pulled me back to my feet. I didn’t earn it. I didn’t deserve it. But He never left me there. That’s why I can say with confidence: the same hand that pulled me up will pull you, too.
🌿 Covenant Triumph: The Hope We Carry
The muck isn’t the end of the story. The rock is. The pit isn’t your forever. The song is. We are a people who walk out of graves and sing in the daylight. If the world is sinking, then it is also primed for the rescue that only Christ brings. And if He has set your feet on the rock, then your life itself becomes part of the rope He throws to someone else.
