The Little Things That Aren’t So Little

Floatie:  Death by Coffee Spill

Song of Solomon 2:15  Catch the foxes for us, the little foxes that spoil the vineyards, for our vineyards are in blossom.(ESV)

Ever notice how the tiniest things can ruin your whole mood?  You stub your toe, spill your coffee, or every stoplight in town suddenly goes red like they’re conspiring against you.  Small annoyances feel enormous in the moment.  But Scripture flips the mirror—little things don’t just annoy, they carry weight.  Tiny foxes ruin whole vineyards.  A small word can wound or heal.  A simple kindness can reroute someone’s day.

✒️ Forge:  Tiny Foxes, Big Consequences

Proverbs 18:21  Death and life are in the power of the tongue, and those who love it will eat its fruits.(ESV)

A few careless words can scar a relationship.  A whispered encouragement can lift someone out of despair.  The “little” things stack up into whole worlds of consequence.  Jesus Himself said, “One who is faithful in a very little is also faithful in much” (Luke 16:10).

⚒️ Anvil:  The Vineyard Audit

Think about your last 24 hours.  Did you brush off a moment you thought didn’t matter?  A quick smile, a small prayer, a word left unsaid?  What you call “small” might be a kingdom-sized seed.  The vineyard doesn’t fall because of one huge collapse—it dies by a thousand tiny foxes chewing at the roots.

🔥 Ember:  Eternal Echoes of the Mundane

What if today’s “little” choice echoes into eternity?  What if God is smiling at your smallest act of faithfulness?  Don’t underestimate the weight of the mundane.  Heaven measures differently than we do.

🌿 Covenant Triumph:  Small Cross, Cosmic Shockwave

The cross itself looked small—a carpenter executed in an out-of-the-way province.  Yet that “small” event shook eternity.  Your little faith, your little obedience, your little kindness is not little when it’s in His hands.

Who am I?

I’ve walked a path I didn’t ask for, guided by a God I can’t ignore. I don’t wear titles well—writer, teacher, leader—they fit like borrowed armor. But I know this: I’ve bled truth onto a page, challenged what I was told to swallow, and led only because I refused to follow where I couldn’t see Christ.

I don’t see greatness in the mirror. I see someone ordinary, shaped by pain and made resilient through it. I’m not above anyone. I’m not below anyone. I’m just trying to live what I believe and document the war inside so others know they aren’t alone.

If you’re looking for polished answers, you won’t find them here.
But if you’re looking for honesty, tension, paradox, and a relentless pursuit of truth,
you’re in the right place.

If you’re unsure of what path to follow or disillusioned with the world today and are willing to walk with me along this path I follow, you’ll never be alone. Everyone is welcome and invited to participate as much as they feel comfortable with.

Now, welcome home. I’m Don.
