Today, I’m starting a loosely related series of posts to cover topics that I’ve not talked enough about. I might have danced around them or lightly touched on them, but these deserve much more attention than I’ve given them, and my readers deserve better. As always, if there are any topics that someone wants to discuss, please reach out. I’m always open to suggestions, comments, concerns, and corrections. I’m human and very prone to mistakes. These messages are based on the things I’ve read and questions that I’ve asked. I’m not trained in any classical sense, and my interpretation can certainly be wrong. Read what I write, but always take it back to the source. Read the bible for yourselves and ask God for the discernment to see His truth.
⚓ Floatie: The Role of the Holy Spirit in Daily Life
Romans 8:14 For all who are led by the Spirit of God are sons of God.(ESV)
✒️ Forge: Walking with the Wind
The Holy Spirit is not just a theological concept or a Pentecostal footnote. He is a person, present and active in the daily life of every true believer.
In the early Church, the Spirit was not merely experienced on Sundays or during moments of emotional high. He was consulted, obeyed, and relied upon for daily guidance, power, comfort, and conviction.
Too often, we treat the Spirit like a spiritual GPS—only turned on when we’re lost. But in Scripture, He is described more like breath (John 20:22), wind (Acts 2:2), and fire (Acts 2:3)—not controlled, not boxed in, and certainly not silent.
A few core truths:
- The Spirit teaches and reminds (John 14:26).
- He guides into truth (John 16:13).
- He convicts both the world of sin and the believer of righteousness (John 16:8–10).
- He intercedes when we don’t even know what to pray (Romans 8:26).
- He speaks—sometimes clearly, sometimes subtly—but always with purpose (Acts 8:29, Acts 13:2).
To ignore the Spirit is to walk blind. To grieve Him is to lose your compass. And to obey Him? That’s where power lives.
⚒️ Anvil: The Missed Voice in Your Head
When was the last time you slowed down enough to ask: “Spirit of God, what are You saying right now?”
We crowd our lives with static—news, noise, notifications—then wonder why the Spirit feels distant. He hasn’t moved. We’ve just forgotten to tune in.
Practical checkpoints:
- That nudge to reach out to someone? That might be Him.
- That moment of hesitation before saying something sharp? That’s likely Him.
- That random person you can’t stop thinking about? It’s worth praying—He might be prompting.
He doesn’t always shout. More often, He whispers. But He’s always speaking. The question is: Are you walking with Him or walking ahead of Him?
Galatians 5:25 If we live by the Spirit, let us also keep in step with the Spirit.(ESV)
🔥 Ember: The Cost of Overriding the Spirit
I’ve learned the hard way—sometimes the Spirit doesn’t say don’t, He just pauses. A subtle tension in the soul. A gentle check in the gut. And I’ve bulldozed right over it more times than I care to admit.
And every time, I pay for it. Sometimes it’s small—a misstep, a wasted opportunity. Other times, it’s devastating—a lost relationship, a compromised testimony, or a door that should never have been opened.
But then there are the times I listened. Stopped mid-sentence. Turned the car around. Sent the message. Prayed the prayer. Waited the extra day.
And those moments? They have a weight to them. You know you were in step with heaven.
🌿 Covenant Triumph: Still Small, Still Speaking
Isaiah 30:21 And your ears shall hear a word behind you, saying, “This is the way, walk in it,” when you turn to the right or when you turn to the left.(ESV)
The Spirit has not gone silent. He hasn’t stopped leading. He hasn’t given up on guiding you.
He still whispers. He still convicts. He still breathes life.
But you have to make room.
Today, carve out space. Invite Him. Listen.
And when He speaks—obey without hesitation.
That’s where sons and daughters walk.
That’s where freedom lives.
That’s where power returns.
