The Second Wind

Isaiah 40:29–31  (29)He gives power to the faint, and to him who has no might he increases strength.  (30)Even youths shall faint and be weary, and young men shall fall exhausted; (31)but they who wait for the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings like eagles; they shall run and not be weary; they shall walk and not faint.(ESV)

Floatie:  More in the Tank Than You Know

You don’t always need a miracle.  Sometimes, you just need a second wind.

Not a new life.  Not a new calling.  Just the breath to keep going.
God doesn’t always part seas—sometimes He just gives you legs strong enough to walk the shoreline until the tide turns.

✒️ Forge:  The Hidden Rhythm of Renewal

Notice the sequence:  mount up… run… walk.
It’s the reverse of how we live.  We usually start walking, build up to running, and maybe catch a mountaintop moment.  But when God renews your strength, He starts by lifting you—giving you a vision from above.  Only then does He teach you how to run with purpose and walk with endurance.  This is soul architecture.  He’s building a rhythm that sustains you in both the highs and the lows.

⚒️ Anvil:  You’re Not Failing—You’re Waiting

Waiting isn’t laziness.
Waiting isn’t weakness.
Waiting is training.

Every tired soul that stayed faithful in the dark has been rewired for greater strength.  Not because they conquered—but because they endured.

Hebrews 10:36  For you have need of endurance, so that when you have done the will of God you may receive what is promised.(ESV)

Don’t confuse silence for rejection.  Don’t mistake tiredness for failure.  You’re being positioned for wind.

🔥 Ember:  The Wind Is Coming

The word “Spirit” in both Hebrew (ruach) and Greek (pneuma) means breath or wind.

The same wind that hovered over the waters in Genesis…
The same wind that split the sea for Moses…
The same wind that filled the upper room in Acts…

That wind is still blowing.

And it still finds the faint.

🌿 Covenant Triumph:  Running With the Wind Again

You will walk again—without fainting.
You will run again—without burnout.
You will rise again—with wings.

Not because you’re strong.
Because He is.

And His strength doesn’t run out when yours does.  It begins.

Who am I?

I’ve walked a path I didn’t ask for, guided by a God I can’t ignore. I don’t wear titles well—writer, teacher, leader—they fit like borrowed armor. But I know this: I’ve bled truth onto a page, challenged what I was told to swallow, and led only because I refused to follow where I couldn’t see Christ.

I don’t see greatness in the mirror. I see someone ordinary, shaped by pain and made resilient through it. I’m not above anyone. I’m not below anyone. I’m just trying to live what I believe and document the war inside so others know they aren’t alone.

If you’re looking for polished answers, you won’t find them here.
But if you’re looking for honesty, tension, paradox, and a relentless pursuit of truth,
you’re in the right place.

If you’re unsure of what path to follow or disillusioned with the world today and are willing to walk with me along this path I follow, you’ll never be alone. Everyone is welcome and invited to participate as much as they feel comfortable with.

Now, welcome home. I’m Don.
