Eve in the Garden, Part 9:  The Bride and the Beast

Subtitle:  When the Church Forgets Who She Belongs To

Floatie:  Entry Point

Revelation 17:6  And I saw the woman, drunk with the blood of the saints, the blood of the martyrs of Jesus.  When I saw her, I marveled greatly.(ESV)

She wore purple and scarlet.  She held a golden cup.  She looked powerful, regal, sacred.  But she was riding a beast.  This image isn’t fantasy—it’s prophecy.  And it describes a church-like system so intertwined with worldly power and spiritual compromise that it becomes an enemy of Christ while still claiming His name.  The deception isn’t in her name.  It’s in her allegiance.  And the modern church must ask:  Are we preparing the Bride—or building Babylon?

✒️ Forge:  Theological Framework

The Great Prostitute in Revelation

Revelation 17:1  Then one of the seven angels who had the seven bowls came and said to me, “Come, I will show you the judgment of the great prostitute who is seated on many waters,(ESV)

This figure represents a false religious system—one that:

  • Partners with the world’s power structures
  • Profits from spiritual corruption
  • Persecutes the true remnant

She is clothed in wealth.  She is respected by kings.  But her end is destruction.  This isn’t just a future warning—it’s a pattern throughout history.

Every time the church trades purity for influence…
Every time she marries the state, the culture, or the platform…

She becomes less of a bride and more of a beast rider.

The Bride’s True Calling

Revelation 19:7  Let us rejoice and exult and give him the glory, for the marriage of the Lamb has come, and his Bride has made herself ready;(ESV)

The true Bride isn’t dressed in luxury.  She’s dressed in righteousness.  She’s not drunk on influence.  She’s filled with oil and anticipation.  She doesn’t flirt with the world to grow her platform.  She follows the Lamb wherever He goes. (Revelation 14:4)(ESV)

⚒️ Anvil:  Application and Challenge

How Do We Know Which One We’re Building?

Ask:

  • Are we attracting the world by mirroring it—or by revealing Christ?
  • Are we obsessed with influence, optics, and scale?
  • Have we compromised holiness for brand identity?

If we need cultural acceptance to feel effective…
If we’re afraid to preach the full gospel because it might offend…

We may already be on the beast’s back.

The Call to Come Out

Revelation 18:4  Then I heard another voice from heaven saying, “Come out of her, my people, lest you take part in her sins, lest you share in her plagues;(ESV)

This is more than leaving corrupt systems.  It’s about renouncing spiritual compromise in every form:

  • Church politics that silence prophets
  • Growth models that muzzle truth
  • Spiritual adultery that trades Christ for clout

The Bride is being prepared.  But so is Babylon.  We will belong to one or the other.

🔥 Ember:  My Witness

The Day I Saw the Beast Under the Branding

There was a moment where everything looked like revival.  The numbers.  The testimonies, including my own.  The music.  The media.

But then I saw the decisions made behind the scenes.  I saw truth softened to keep the peace.  I saw money steer direction more than Scripture.  And something broke in me.

The church I loved was becoming a machine.  A beautiful, productive, powerful machine.  But the Lamb wasn’t leading it anymore.

It was subtle.  It was slow.  But it was real.  And I knew—I had to get off the beast.

The Series Continues

The Bride is real.  The Beast is rising.
And the difference isn’t in the name they claim—but the Spirit they follow.

Now is the time to ask:  “Am I being prepared for the Lamb—or seduced by the system?”

Because in the end, one rides to war…

And the other gets thrown into the fire.

Revelation 19:9  Blessed are those who are invited to the marriage supper of the Lamb.(ESV)

Who am I?

I’ve walked a path I didn’t ask for, guided by a God I can’t ignore. I don’t wear titles well—writer, teacher, leader—they fit like borrowed armor. But I know this: I’ve bled truth onto a page, challenged what I was told to swallow, and led only because I refused to follow where I couldn’t see Christ.

I don’t see greatness in the mirror. I see someone ordinary, shaped by pain and made resilient through it. I’m not above anyone. I’m not below anyone. I’m just trying to live what I believe and document the war inside so others know they aren’t alone.

If you’re looking for polished answers, you won’t find them here.
But if you’re looking for honesty, tension, paradox, and a relentless pursuit of truth,
you’re in the right place.

If you’re unsure of what path to follow or disillusioned with the world today and are willing to walk with me along this path I follow, you’ll never be alone. Everyone is welcome and invited to participate as much as they feel comfortable with.

Now, welcome home. I’m Don.
