From Dust to Divinity: Part 7

Christ as the Fulfillment of the Pattern

Colossians 1:19-20
(19)For in him all the fullness of God was pleased to dwell, (20)and through him to reconcile to himself all things, whether on earth or in heaven, making peace by the blood of his cross.(ESV)

Every pattern in Scripture—every covenant, every sacrifice, every marriage, every temple—finds its fulfillment in one place: Jesus Christ.

He is not merely the solution to the problem of sin. He is the completion of the divine design.

Scriptural Foundation

Philippians 2:6-8
(6)who, though he was in the form of God, did not count equality with God a thing to be grasped, (7)but emptied himself, by taking the form of a servant, being born in the likeness of men. (8)And being found in human form, he humbled himself by becoming obedient to the point of death, even death on a cross.(ESV)

John 1:14
And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us, and we have seen his glory, glory as of the only Son from the Father, full of grace and truth.(ESV)

Hebrews 2:14
Since therefore the children share in flesh and blood, he himself likewise partook of the same things, that through death he might destroy the one who has the power of death, that is, the devil,(ESV)

Jesus didn’t just visit the veil—He entered it fully. He subjected Himself to limitation, pain, hunger, sorrow, time, and even death. And in doing so, He became the perfect bridge—the meeting point of the eternal and the temporal.

Theological Reflection

Where Adam failed to reflect God perfectly, Christ succeeded. Where Israel broke the covenant, Christ kept it. Where humanity stumbled in weakness, Christ stood in power—without ever bypassing limitation.

Hebrews 4:15
For we do not have a high priest who is unable to sympathize with our weaknesses, but one who in every respect has been tempted as we are, yet without sin.(ESV)

He did not reject the veil. He wore it. And in wearing it, He redeemed it.

Christ became the prototype of glorified humanity—fully God, fully man, joined in perfect harmony. Not just to show us what we could be, but to make us into what we were always meant to become.

1 John 3:2
Beloved, we are God’s children now, and what we will be has not yet appeared; but we know that when he appears we shall be like him, because we shall see him as he is.(ESV)

Theoretical Expansion

If the hypothesis of this series holds true—that creation exists to explore the experience of limitation—then Christ is the culmination of that purpose.

He is the infinite voluntarily entering the finite. He is perfection embracing weakness without ever becoming corrupt. He is the returning pattern, not just as a model, but as the means by which we too may return.

And in Him, the end becomes the beginning. The soul, once limited, once veiled, once distant, becomes fully united with the Source.

We do not return to God as we were. We return transformed, through the One who was transformed before us.

Romans 8:29
For those whom he foreknew he also predestined to be conformed to the image of his Son, in order that he might be the firstborn among many brothers.(ESV)

Closing Thought for This Post

Jesus is not just the center of salvation. He is the fulfillment of the design.

He entered the veil to open it from within. He embraced limitation to redeem it. He became one of us so that we could become one with Him.

He is the proof that the return is possible. He is the promise that it is real.

Who am I?

I’ve walked a path I didn’t ask for, guided by a God I can’t ignore. I don’t wear titles well—writer, teacher, leader—they fit like borrowed armor. But I know this: I’ve bled truth onto a page, challenged what I was told to swallow, and led only because I refused to follow where I couldn’t see Christ.

I don’t see greatness in the mirror. I see someone ordinary, shaped by pain and made resilient through it. I’m not above anyone. I’m not below anyone. I’m just trying to live what I believe and document the war inside so others know they aren’t alone.

If you’re looking for polished answers, you won’t find them here.
But if you’re looking for honesty, tension, paradox, and a relentless pursuit of truth,
you’re in the right place.

If you’re unsure of what path to follow or disillusioned with the world today and are willing to walk with me along this path I follow, you’ll never be alone. Everyone is welcome and invited to participate as much as they feel comfortable with.

Now, welcome home. I’m Don.
