From Dust to Divinity: Part 2

The Divine Nature of Creation

John 1:3
All things were made through him, and without him was not any thing made that was made.(ESV)

Creation did not arise from chaos. It was not random. It was not reactive. It was intentional, born from the will of an eternal, limitless God.

Genesis 1:1
In the beginning, God created the heavens and the earth.(ESV)

Scriptural Foundation

The Bible is clear: Everything—seen and unseen—was made by God, through Christ, and for a purpose.

Colossians 1:16-17
(16)For by him all things were created, in heaven and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or dominions or rulers or authorities—all things were created through him and for him. (17)And he is before all things, and in him all things hold together.(ESV)

This includes matter, energy, angels, time, and the laws that govern all of them. Nothing exists apart from His sustaining presence.

Hebrews 1:3-4
(3)He is the radiance of the glory of God and the exact imprint of his nature, and he upholds the universe by the word of his power. After making purification for sins, he sat down at the right hand of the Majesty on high, (4)having become as much superior to angels as the name he has inherited is more excellent than theirs.(ESV)

Theological Reflection

If God created all things, then time is not an eternal backdrop—it is a created container. The beginning wasn’t just about matter. It was about structure—limitation, sequence, and dependency.

God, being eternal, did not need creation. So creation must exist not from necessity, but from intent—an act of will, not of lack. And if everything is upheld by Christ—even time itself—then time only continues because He sustains it.

It is not a force. It is a veil.

Theoretical Expansion

If God sustains creation by His will, then nothing can exist that does not serve a purpose. Even suffering. Even death. Even limitation.

The idea begins to emerge: What if creation is not merely the object of God’s power, but the instrument of His revelation?

Not that God learns anything (He cannot), but that creation is the way He expresses and receives back the total picture of what it means to live with limitation.

Each life. Each soul. Each layer of separation from the Source—becomes a channel through which something returns.

Isaiah 55:11
so shall my word be that goes out from my mouth; it shall not return to me empty, but it shall accomplish that which I purpose, and shall succeed in the thing for which I sent it.(ESV)

Closing Thought for This Post

Creation is not just something God did. It is something He holds. Every breath, every law, every moment of time is sustained. And if it is sustained, then it is active. Purposeful. Going somewhere.

If we believe that, then the limitations of our world are not flaws to escape—
but invitations to understand why we were made.

Who am I?

I’ve walked a path I didn’t ask for, guided by a God I can’t ignore. I don’t wear titles well—writer, teacher, leader—they fit like borrowed armor. But I know this: I’ve bled truth onto a page, challenged what I was told to swallow, and led only because I refused to follow where I couldn’t see Christ.

I don’t see greatness in the mirror. I see someone ordinary, shaped by pain and made resilient through it. I’m not above anyone. I’m not below anyone. I’m just trying to live what I believe and document the war inside so others know they aren’t alone.

If you’re looking for polished answers, you won’t find them here.
But if you’re looking for honesty, tension, paradox, and a relentless pursuit of truth,
you’re in the right place.

If you’re unsure of what path to follow or disillusioned with the world today and are willing to walk with me along this path I follow, you’ll never be alone. Everyone is welcome and invited to participate as much as they feel comfortable with.

Now, welcome home. I’m Don.
