Some Days…

Ephesians 6:12-13  (12)For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the cosmic powers over this present darkness, against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly places.  (13)Therefore take up the whole armor of God, that you may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand firm.(ESV)

There are days while reading my bible that the words just seem to jump off the page.  This phrase or that one stands out and begs for a closer inspection.  It’s like a hidden gem catching the light that is begging for freedom.

Then, there are days like this.  The world is pressing down.  The crushing weight of it makes every breath a chore.  On those days, it takes concerted efforts to focus on the words long enough to be able to say you read them.

The thing I noticed is that I can’t tell the difference between the enemy attacking me, just being tired, God covering me to protect me, God covering me to keep me from seeing something I’m not ready for, or God covering me like a seed so that I can be better prepared for something to come.

The answer, of course, for each is the same—rest in His provision and wait for Him.

Who am I?

I’ve walked a path I didn’t ask for, guided by a God I can’t ignore. I don’t wear titles well—writer, teacher, leader—they fit like borrowed armor. But I know this: I’ve bled truth onto a page, challenged what I was told to swallow, and led only because I refused to follow where I couldn’t see Christ.

I don’t see greatness in the mirror. I see someone ordinary, shaped by pain and made resilient through it. I’m not above anyone. I’m not below anyone. I’m just trying to live what I believe and document the war inside so others know they aren’t alone.

If you’re looking for polished answers, you won’t find them here.
But if you’re looking for honesty, tension, paradox, and a relentless pursuit of truth,
you’re in the right place.

If you’re unsure of what path to follow or disillusioned with the world today and are willing to walk with me along this path I follow, you’ll never be alone. Everyone is welcome and invited to participate as much as they feel comfortable with.

Now, welcome home. I’m Don.
