Babel vs Pentecost

Genesis 11:1  Now the whole earth had one language and the same words.(ESV)

Genesis 11:4  Then they said, “Come, let us build ourselves a city and a tower with its top in the heavens, and let us make a name for ourselves, lest we be dispersed over the face of the whole earth.”(ESV)

Genesis 11:7  Come, let us go down and there confuse their language, so that they may not understand one another’s speech.(ESV)

Genesis 11:9  Therefore its name was called Babel, because there the Lord confused the language of all the earth.  And from there the Lord dispersed them over the face of all the earth.(ESV)

The tower of Babel:

                Human unity was shattered.

                Languages were confused, causing division.

People were scattered across the earth.

Humanity was separated from God’s direct presence.

Acts 2:1-4  (1)When the day of Pentecost arrived, they were all together in one place.  (2)And suddenly there came from heaven a sound like a mighty rushing wind, and it filled the entire house where they were sitting.  (3)And divided tongues as of fire appeared to them and rested on each one of them.  (4)And they were all filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak in other tongues as the Spirit gave them utterance.(ESV)

Acts 2:6  And at this sound the multitude came together, and they were bewildered, because each one was hearing them speak in his own language.(ESV)

Acts 2:11  both Jews and proselytes, Cretans and Arabians—we hear them telling in our own tongues the mighty works of God.(ESV)

The day of Pentecost:

Scattered nations were gathered in Jerusalem (the city of peace).

People of many languages understood one another.

The Holy Spirit united God’s people again.

God’s presence returned through the Holy Spirit, reversing Babel’s separation.

Who am I?

I’ve walked a path I didn’t ask for, guided by a God I can’t ignore. I don’t wear titles well—writer, teacher, leader—they fit like borrowed armor. But I know this: I’ve bled truth onto a page, challenged what I was told to swallow, and led only because I refused to follow where I couldn’t see Christ.

I don’t see greatness in the mirror. I see someone ordinary, shaped by pain and made resilient through it. I’m not above anyone. I’m not below anyone. I’m just trying to live what I believe and document the war inside so others know they aren’t alone.

If you’re looking for polished answers, you won’t find them here.
But if you’re looking for honesty, tension, paradox, and a relentless pursuit of truth,
you’re in the right place.

If you’re unsure of what path to follow or disillusioned with the world today and are willing to walk with me along this path I follow, you’ll never be alone. Everyone is welcome and invited to participate as much as they feel comfortable with.

Now, welcome home. I’m Don.
