Matthew 6:7 And when you pray, do not heap up empty phrases as the Gentiles do, for they think that they will be heard for their many words.(ESV)
1 Corinthians 13:1-2 (1)If I speak in the tongues of men and of angels, but have not love, I am a noisy gong or a clanging cymbal. (2)And if I have prophetic powers, and understand all mysteries and all knowledge, and if I have all faith, so as to remove mountains, but have not love, I am nothing.(ESV)
Deuteronomy 4:9 Only take care, and keep your soul diligently, lest you forget the things that your eyes have seen, and lest they depart from your heart all the days of your life. Make them known to your children and your children’s children.(ESV)
What good would it be to hear or read God’s Word but never act on it? To let the lessons fade without reflection? Scripture calls us to remember—not to long for what was, but to learn, grow, and give thanks for God’s work in our lives.
This year, through 262 messages, 145,300 words, and 887 references to 3,725 unique verses in Scripture, we’ve walked through the Word together. To God goes the glory for every conversation sparked, every heart encouraged, and every truth revealed. If God used even one message to draw someone closer to Him, then it was all worth it.
As we close this year, let’s reflect on where we’ve been—the trials we’ve faced, the victories we’ve celebrated, and the small moments of grace that enriched our souls. Remember those we’ve lost with gratitude for the time we had. Sing praises for new friends and new opportunities. And most of all, lean into what God is teaching us and give thanks, knowing He is faithful.
For those grieving or weary, take heart: God is near to the brokenhearted and promises to give strength for the journey ahead. For those rejoicing, let your joy overflow in gratitude and service, knowing that every good gift comes from Him. And for all of us, let us move into the new year with confidence, trusting in God’s unchanging love and sovereign plans.
As the calendar turns, let us once again turn our hearts to Him. He is the same yesterday, today, and forever— the King of Kings, the Lord of Lords, and the One who holds our future. May we enter the new year with hope, courage, and faith, knowing that He is with us always.
