The Law

Exodus 24:12 The Lord said to Moses, “Come up to me on the mountain and wait there, that I may give you the tablets of stone, with the law and the commandment, which I have written for their instruction.”(ESV)

Exodus 31:18 And he gave to Moses, when he had finished speaking with him on Mount Sinai, the two tablets of the testimony, tablets of stone, written with the finger of God.(ESV)

Exodus 32:16 The tablets were the work of God, and the writing was the writing of God, engraved on the tablets.(ESV)

Exodus 34:1 The Lord said to Moses, “Cut for yourself two tablets of stone like the first, and I will write on the tablets the words that were on the first tablets, which you broke.(ESV)

God created the first set up tablets and wrote the law on them. Moses broke them. Moses had to create the second set of tablets for God to write on.
God created the first Adam and placed His breath in him. Eve broke the first Adam. Mary made the second Adam of human flesh, grown in a human womb, for God to live in human form as Jesus.
God created the old covenant through Abraham. Abraham and Sarah broke the covenant by trying to force God’s timing and brought about the birth of Ishmael through Hagar. God restored the covenant through Isaac, the covenant child, and Abraham’s obedience.

There is a repeated pattern here in the bible. These specific examples are not the only ones. The pattern is always four steps.

1. God creates something perfect.
2. We break it.
3. We repent (turn around, turn back to God, etc.).
4. God works through the repentance of step 3 to restore what was broken.

It’s also interesting to note that that in Exodus 32:15, the commandment tablets are called the “two tablets of testimony”. Whose testimony is this? This is God’s testimony. It can only be His testimony since He wrote both sets of tablets. In Exodus 34:29, the second set of tablets are again referred to as “two tablets of testimony”.

Who am I?

I’ve walked a path I didn’t ask for, guided by a God I can’t ignore. I don’t wear titles well—writer, teacher, leader—they fit like borrowed armor. But I know this: I’ve bled truth onto a page, challenged what I was told to swallow, and led only because I refused to follow where I couldn’t see Christ.

I don’t see greatness in the mirror. I see someone ordinary, shaped by pain and made resilient through it. I’m not above anyone. I’m not below anyone. I’m just trying to live what I believe and document the war inside so others know they aren’t alone.

If you’re looking for polished answers, you won’t find them here.
But if you’re looking for honesty, tension, paradox, and a relentless pursuit of truth,
you’re in the right place.

If you’re unsure of what path to follow or disillusioned with the world today and are willing to walk with me along this path I follow, you’ll never be alone. Everyone is welcome and invited to participate as much as they feel comfortable with.

Now, welcome home. I’m Don.
