It’s the day after the election. How are you doing? Did your candidate win? Congratulations. If not, I’m sorry. In the wake of the election, emotions will often run high. Some will celebrate victory, while others may face disappointment. But as we navigate these reactions, it’s essential to shift our focus from earthly results to the One who holds true authority: God. The Bible reminds us that God’s sovereignty extends over all nations and rulers. Daniel 2:21 states, “He changes times and seasons; He removes kings and sets up kings.” Whether leaders are raised to power as a blessing or as a means of correction, God is at work, fulfilling His purposes.
Proverbs 21:1 tells us, “The king’s heart is a stream of water in the hand of the Lord; He turns it wherever He will.” This reassures us that no matter who is in power, God is the ultimate guide behind every leader’s actions, directing history according to His divine plan.
So, let us remember that our hope and trust should always rest in God’s unchanging sovereignty. Leaders come and go, but His rule is eternal. In times of victory or loss, we can find peace knowing He is truly in control. Whether our candidate won or lost, our mission remains the same.
