A Single Purpose

John 12:27
Now is my soul troubled. And what shall I say? ‘Father, save me from this hour’? But for this purpose I have come to this hour.

The entire life of Jesus came down to a single purpose, which was to make a way for mankind to find salvation. He knew that the process of His death would be brutal. Yet, He chose to embrace His role because He was the only one capable of doing what needed to be done. If Jesus had not fulfilled His mission on earth, there would not have been another way to fix what was broken.

You have a mission in life as well. You are here for a purpose. God took time and effort to design you and build you. He knit you together in the womb. He has orchestrated some of the most key moments in your life to be sure that you would be the person you needed to be when your moment came. Jesus had to go through a period of proving so that the world would have to admit His identity. Followers of Christ are no different.

No matter what the challenges are, whatever life throws your way, how difficult it is to just get out of bed, or how badly you want to give up, remember that only you are capable of doing the things you were meant to do. Everything before has uniquely prepared you for the challenges to come. Every test you’ve survived has validated that you are the right person for the opportunities put before you. Take a moment to look in the mirror and humbly pat yourself on the back. Look into your own eyes and repeat these words until they become etched on your soul: I was made for this.

Who am I?

I’ve walked a path I didn’t ask for, guided by a God I can’t ignore. I don’t wear titles well—writer, teacher, leader—they fit like borrowed armor. But I know this: I’ve bled truth onto a page, challenged what I was told to swallow, and led only because I refused to follow where I couldn’t see Christ.

I don’t see greatness in the mirror. I see someone ordinary, shaped by pain and made resilient through it. I’m not above anyone. I’m not below anyone. I’m just trying to live what I believe and document the war inside so others know they aren’t alone.

If you’re looking for polished answers, you won’t find them here.
But if you’re looking for honesty, tension, paradox, and a relentless pursuit of truth,
you’re in the right place.

If you’re unsure of what path to follow or disillusioned with the world today and are willing to walk with me along this path I follow, you’ll never be alone. Everyone is welcome and invited to participate as much as they feel comfortable with.

Now, welcome home. I’m Don.
