God Sees What We Hide

Jeremiah 23:24
Can a man hide himself in secret places so that I cannot see him? declares the Lord. Do I not fill heaven and earth? declares the Lord.

If you’re listening to the radio and a song comes on that you don’t want to hear, what do you do? You change the channel. It’s kind of important to note that changing the channel doesn’t stop the song from playing. It’s still there. If you go back to that station before the song is over then you will still hear it. We do that same thing on most social media and media streaming platforms. If something we don’t want to watch or listen to comes on we change the channel or skip to the next video or song. I often catch my kids changing the channel if their mom or I walk into the room. When my kids do it, we have the tendency to ask them what they were watching and validating the content. If we don’t approve then there is a discussion to be had.

It’s funny to me that we try to do the same thing with God. He sees everything. He sees the stuff we try to hide from Him. He has even told us that He still sees. The challenge today is to examine the things we are trying to hide from a God who sees absolutely everything. This isn’t to say that we should be proud or boastful in our sin, but that we should stop trying to hide it.

1 John 3:18
Little children, let us not love in word or talk but in deed and in truth.

John 4:23-24
(23)But the hour is coming, and is now here, when the true worshipers will worship the Father in spirit and truth, for the Father is seeking such people to worship him. (24)God is spirit, and those who worship him must worship in spirit and truth.

Who am I?

I’ve walked a path I didn’t ask for, guided by a God I can’t ignore. I don’t wear titles well—writer, teacher, leader—they fit like borrowed armor. But I know this: I’ve bled truth onto a page, challenged what I was told to swallow, and led only because I refused to follow where I couldn’t see Christ.

I don’t see greatness in the mirror. I see someone ordinary, shaped by pain and made resilient through it. I’m not above anyone. I’m not below anyone. I’m just trying to live what I believe and document the war inside so others know they aren’t alone.

If you’re looking for polished answers, you won’t find them here.
But if you’re looking for honesty, tension, paradox, and a relentless pursuit of truth,
you’re in the right place.

If you’re unsure of what path to follow or disillusioned with the world today and are willing to walk with me along this path I follow, you’ll never be alone. Everyone is welcome and invited to participate as much as they feel comfortable with.

Now, welcome home. I’m Don.
