To Be Known Fully

1 Corinthians 13:12 For now we see in a mirror dimly, but then face to face. Now I know in part; then I shall know fully, even as I have been fully known.(ESV)

What does it mean to know fully? What does it mean to be fully known?

It means
knowing the true cost of each scar that nobody else can see.
knowing how every trauma response perpetuated the pain you felt even though that was the very last thing you would ever want.
knowing why you were broken.
knowing how God used that brokenness to heal others.
knowing that you were loved especially in those times when you hated the beating of your own heart.
understanding the cost of your addictions.
knowing the opportunity cost of your fears.
knowing, truly knowing with no doubt or reservation, the absolute love and care God poured into every breath you took.
finally being able to quantify the oceans of tears God shed for every tear you did.
finally understanding the love of the One who died for you when no one else wanted you.

It means finally being able to speak to the person in the mirror without guilt, shame, or pain because it means looking in the mirror and seeing you as God sees you.

Who am I?

I’ve walked a path I didn’t ask for, guided by a God I can’t ignore. I don’t wear titles well—writer, teacher, leader—they fit like borrowed armor. But I know this: I’ve bled truth onto a page, challenged what I was told to swallow, and led only because I refused to follow where I couldn’t see Christ.

I don’t see greatness in the mirror. I see someone ordinary, shaped by pain and made resilient through it. I’m not above anyone. I’m not below anyone. I’m just trying to live what I believe and document the war inside so others know they aren’t alone.

If you’re looking for polished answers, you won’t find them here.
But if you’re looking for honesty, tension, paradox, and a relentless pursuit of truth,
you’re in the right place.

If you’re unsure of what path to follow or disillusioned with the world today and are willing to walk with me along this path I follow, you’ll never be alone. Everyone is welcome and invited to participate as much as they feel comfortable with.

Now, welcome home. I’m Don.
