Asking for Feedback

Proverbs 12:1 Whoever loves discipline loves knowledge, but he who hates reproof is stupid.(ESV)

Proverbs 15:32 Whoever ignores instruction despises himself, but he who listens to reproof gains intelligence.(ESV)

Proverbs 13:18 Poverty and disgrace come to him who ignores instruction, but whoever heeds reproof is honored.(ESV)

Proverbs 9:8 Do not reprove a scoffer, or he will hate you; reprove a wise man, and he will love you.(ESV)

I often receive positive affirmations that these messages help people, which is uplifting. Thank you. However, I rarely get constructive criticism, concerns, or questions for clarification, which is what I’m asking for today.

This email is my effort to be bolder in my faith and share what I’m learning. I highlight the key verse at the top for quick reading and then share my thoughts with supporting verses. Sometimes, I provide context first to ensure proper understanding.

The most common critique is that the messages are too long for people to read in the morning. I’ve tried to shorten them without losing the point but am not sure if it’s working. So, I need feedback, criticism, and challenges. I’m not a bible scholar and could be wrong in my interpretations. Please study for yourselves and help me see where my understanding may be lacking.

A few people have challenged me, and those discussions have been quite valuable. I believe we both walked away with a better understanding and more respect for each other.

Remember that iron sharpens iron so, feel free to ask any questions with things that you are struggling with or are having a hard time understanding. I may not have the answer but I know who does. I’m also very open to asking questions to this group.

Who am I?

I’ve walked a path I didn’t ask for, guided by a God I can’t ignore. I don’t wear titles well—writer, teacher, leader—they fit like borrowed armor. But I know this: I’ve bled truth onto a page, challenged what I was told to swallow, and led only because I refused to follow where I couldn’t see Christ.

I don’t see greatness in the mirror. I see someone ordinary, shaped by pain and made resilient through it. I’m not above anyone. I’m not below anyone. I’m just trying to live what I believe and document the war inside so others know they aren’t alone.

If you’re looking for polished answers, you won’t find them here.
But if you’re looking for honesty, tension, paradox, and a relentless pursuit of truth,
you’re in the right place.

If you’re unsure of what path to follow or disillusioned with the world today and are willing to walk with me along this path I follow, you’ll never be alone. Everyone is welcome and invited to participate as much as they feel comfortable with.

Now, welcome home. I’m Don.
