Stop and Pray

Have you prayed today? Have you taken a moment to connect with God and lay everything before Him?

1 Thessalonians 5:16-18 (16) Rejoice always, (17) pray without ceasing, (18) give thanks in all circumstances; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you.(ESV)

What does it mean to pray without ceasing? Prayer can be understood as a continuous conversation with God. The Bible consistently depicts prayer as involving God directly, emphasizing the relational aspect of prayer. To pray without ceasing is to maintain an ongoing dialogue with God, which helps us align our hearts with His will and find His peace in every situation.

Sharing Blessings:
When someone shares a blessing with you, pray. Celebrate with them and give thanks to God, the source of all blessings. Express gratitude for His mercy, love, and grace. This act of shared thanksgiving multiplies the blessings. Remember, a blessing shared is a blessing multiplied.

Galatians 6:2 Bear one another’s burdens, and so fulfill the law of Christ.(ESV)

Matthew 11:28-30 Come to me, all who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.(ESV)

Sharing Burdens:
When someone comes to you with a burden, pray. This prayer is not only for the person bearing the burden but also for you, as you help carry it to God. Bringing God into the situation through prayer ensures that the burden is placed where it belongs—at the feet of Jesus. When we fail to pray about these burdens, we risk carrying a weight we were never meant to bear. Sharing the burden with another who will help us take that burden to the Lord in prayer lightens the burden and amplifies the prayer.

Matthew 18:19-20 (19)Again I say to you, if two of you agree on earth about anything they ask, it will be done for them by my Father in heaven. (20)For where two or three are gathered in my name, there am I among them.(ESV)

Let that sink in. Even if someone vents to you about having a rough day, pray. They have lightened their load by sharing, but if we don’t pray, we risk taking the burden on ourselves, lacking the strength and wisdom to handle it. Invite them to join in prayer, placing the burden with Jesus.

Whether it’s a blessing or a burden, let’s bring it all to God in prayer. Rejoice always, pray without ceasing, and give thanks in all circumstances, knowing that He cares for us and will sustain us. In doing this, we will see our blessings multiply and our burdens lightened, living out the fullness of life that God intends for us.

So, let me ask you again, have you prayed today? How can I pray for you? What blessings do you have to share?

Who am I?

I’ve walked a path I didn’t ask for, guided by a God I can’t ignore. I don’t wear titles well—writer, teacher, leader—they fit like borrowed armor. But I know this: I’ve bled truth onto a page, challenged what I was told to swallow, and led only because I refused to follow where I couldn’t see Christ.

I don’t see greatness in the mirror. I see someone ordinary, shaped by pain and made resilient through it. I’m not above anyone. I’m not below anyone. I’m just trying to live what I believe and document the war inside so others know they aren’t alone.

If you’re looking for polished answers, you won’t find them here.
But if you’re looking for honesty, tension, paradox, and a relentless pursuit of truth,
you’re in the right place.

If you’re unsure of what path to follow or disillusioned with the world today and are willing to walk with me along this path I follow, you’ll never be alone. Everyone is welcome and invited to participate as much as they feel comfortable with.

Now, welcome home. I’m Don.
