2 Corinthians 5:10 For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ, so that each one may receive what is due for what he has done in the body, whether good or evil.(ESV)
Judgement day will happen for every person who has, does, or will live in this world. The judgement day for the saved will be entirely different from those not saved. Think about it this way, in 1 Corinthians 3 we see that every person’s works will be tested by fire to see what remains. In Matthew 12 we see that everyone will have to account for every idle word they spoke. In Luke 16, in the parable of the rich man and Lazarus, we see that we will still remember what we did in life. In 1 Corinthians 13:12 Paul tells us that we will know as we are known.
Take all of these verses together and we find an interesting thing. In this life we cannot know the full impact we have with every word. Every thought, word, and action has an impact. When we finally get to heaven and begin the celebration we will finally see those friends we made without ever knowing them. We will see those lives who were impacted for the kingdom by those thoughts, words, or deeds that we didn’t give much thought to. We will meet people who found the path to salvation only because of something that we did without putting any thought into it.
It may be that just by being who we are in that moment and in that place we were the only person qualified to provide the help that was required. Esther 4:14b And who knows whether you have not come to the kingdom for such a time as this?
