Isaiah 41:10 fear not, for I am with you; be not dismayed, for I am your God; I will strengthen you, I will help you, I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.(ESV)
When the bible says something we should listen. When the bible says the same thing more than once we should really pay attention.
“Fear not”, “do not be afraid”, or some form of that is in the bible more than 300 times. Are you listening yet?
What is mentioned more than that? Love. Love is mentioned more than 600 times in the bible. What we love says more about who we are and who we serve than who or what we fear.
Fear holds us back and prevents us from acting. Love will cause us to act in seemingly irrational ways. Love will see us run into burning buildings, raging waters, or any number of other deadly situations. Love overcomes fear. If we love the Lord with all of our heart then we will love Him more than we fear the punishment for not loving Him. It wasn’t fear of the Father that held Christ to the cross. It was love. A love for you.
The law can’t bring salvation. It can only bring fear. You obey the law because you are afraid of the punishment and not because you love the Lord. Fear becomes your master and will bring about the very thing that you fear. Love accepts punishment as the refining process that brings us more in line with His image and ultimately, brings us closer to Him. Fear despises correction. Love embraces it.
Walk in love and do not be afraid. In Jesus name we pray, amen.

I’ve walked a path I didn’t ask for, guided by a God I can’t ignore. I don’t wear titles well—writer, teacher, leader—they fit like borrowed armor. But I know this: I’ve bled truth onto a page, challenged what I was told to swallow, and led only because I refused to follow where I couldn’t see Christ.
I don’t see greatness in the mirror. I see someone ordinary, shaped by pain and made resilient through it. I’m not above anyone. I’m not below anyone. I’m just trying to live what I believe and document the war inside so others know they aren’t alone.
