Merry Christmas to one and all. Peace on earth and good will towards men, for to us a savior is born in the town of Bethlehem. The very word that created the heavens and the earth has been born in a manger to a virgin mother as promised through prophecy.
Luke 2:10-12 (10)And the angel said to them, “Fear not, for behold, I bring you good news of great joy that will be for all the people. (11For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Savior, who is Christ the Lord. (12)And this will be a sign for you: you will find a baby wrapped in swaddling cloths and lying in a manger.”(ESV)
All of the preparation, anticipation, worrying, and waiting is over. The angels announced the birth of the messiah. The moment when God would truly reveal Himself to us is here. Promises made have been kept. Our patience has been rewarded.
Over the past month, we have walked through prophecy and promise. We have studied the events to see that nothing was left to chance and every prophecy and promise was fulfilled. We have seen the change in tone with the relationship between God and mankind. We have seen a glimpse of how dark the world was before the messiah came to us. We even walked through why Jesus had to come and what His life bought for us.
I hope that through this process something resonates with you and brings you closer to the Lord. I hope that this journey serves as a reminder of your own journey towards God. I pray that this month has seen the Lord working in your life and preparing the way for new and better. I know that some of us are struggling this season. I also know that we all ask the Lord to give you strength and rest. I know that for some, this season is the best that has ever been and the rest of us rejoice with you.
Whatever this season has brought into your life, I only pray that you keep your eyes on the Lord and be reminded that He is the founder and finisher of our faith, our redeemer, our savior, our friend.
This journey has been quite a blessing for me as it has challenged me to dig deeper into the word to find some of these bits I’ve included. It has led me to ask questions that I had never thought to ask before. Just like all of the other emails in this group, you all get to walk with me as I learn new things about the God we serve. You have all been so kind and gracious in your responses. The outpouring of love and support from this group has been amazing and truly a gift from God. For that, I thank you all.
Tomorrow, I’ll return to my normal stream of consciousness style of message where I write down whatever I’m learning at the time.
