Always Be Ready

Revelation 22:13 I am the Alpha and the Omega, the first and the last, the beginning and the end.(ESV)
John 14:6-7 (6)Jesus said to him, “I am the way, and the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me. (7)If you had known me, you would have known my Father also. From now on you do know him and have seen him.”(ESV)

Before I came to my earthly parents, I belonged to the Lord. Before my earthly parents were born, I belonged to the Lord. He made a way for me to be here because He has a purpose for my life.

This morning I had the pleasure of sharing my testimony with a great group of guys that meet every Tuesday morning at 6 AM for a Bible study. It was my turn to speak, and I intentionally did not prepare for this because I feel that any Christian should be ready without notice to give a full account of why they believe as they do. To a non-believer, the Bible is just a book. I can recite it all day long, but the words are dead on the page without a living testimony to relate that to. A non-believer or anyone who is lost needs to have something that connects those words to their lives. It is the power of our testimony that does that for them.

Each of us is called to share this testimony. Anyone who thinks that they don’t have a testimony to give I would challenge them to tell me who Jesus died for.

1 Timothy 2:3-4 (3)This is good, and it is pleasing in the sight of God our Savior, (4)who desires all people to be saved and to come to the knowledge of the truth.(ESV)
2 Peter 3:9 The Lord is not slow in keeping his promise, as some understand slowness. Instead he is patient with you, not wanting anyone to perish, but everyone to come to repentance.(ESV)
Romans 5:18 Consequently, just as one trespass resulted in condemnation for all people, so also one righteous act resulted in justification and life for all people.(ESV)
John 3:16-17 For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. (17)For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him.(ESV)
Acts 4:12 Salvation is found in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given to mankind by which we must be saved.(ESV)

These passages include every person who has ever lived or ever will live. If Jesus was willing to die for you then you obviously have a testimony to share.

What has God done for you? What has God done through you? Testimony can be most easily described as the evidence of what God has already done and what He promises to do again.

Who am I?

I’ve walked a path I didn’t ask for, guided by a God I can’t ignore. I don’t wear titles well—writer, teacher, leader—they fit like borrowed armor. But I know this: I’ve bled truth onto a page, challenged what I was told to swallow, and led only because I refused to follow where I couldn’t see Christ.

I don’t see greatness in the mirror. I see someone ordinary, shaped by pain and made resilient through it. I’m not above anyone. I’m not below anyone. I’m just trying to live what I believe and document the war inside so others know they aren’t alone.

If you’re looking for polished answers, you won’t find them here.
But if you’re looking for honesty, tension, paradox, and a relentless pursuit of truth,
you’re in the right place.

If you’re unsure of what path to follow or disillusioned with the world today and are willing to walk with me along this path I follow, you’ll never be alone. Everyone is welcome and invited to participate as much as they feel comfortable with.

Now, welcome home. I’m Don.
