Trust in the Lord

Proverbs 3:5-6  Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding.  In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make straight your paths.(ESV)

Trust is an odd subject for me.  It is so fragile and easily broken.  It’s impossible to fully trust another human being without being able to show a little grace in the understanding that people will fail at times.  There will always be that painfully broken minority who will try to abuse whatever trust that is placed in humanity.  Even good people fail.  It isn’t intentional and there is no malice behind it.  It just happens.

However, trust in God is always reliable.  We trust that He wants the best for us even though we might not know what that means.  We trust that His love for us was so strong that He sent His one and only son into the world to pay for all sin.

John 15:13  Greater love has no one that this, that someone lay down his life for his friends.(ESV)

Someone who is willing to die for you is someone you can trust.  Jesus died not just to give us life, but to give us life everlasting.

Now that is trustworthy.

Who am I?

I’ve walked a path I didn’t ask for, guided by a God I can’t ignore. I don’t wear titles well—writer, teacher, leader—they fit like borrowed armor. But I know this: I’ve bled truth onto a page, challenged what I was told to swallow, and led only because I refused to follow where I couldn’t see Christ.

I don’t see greatness in the mirror. I see someone ordinary, shaped by pain and made resilient through it. I’m not above anyone. I’m not below anyone. I’m just trying to live what I believe and document the war inside so others know they aren’t alone.

If you’re looking for polished answers, you won’t find them here.
But if you’re looking for honesty, tension, paradox, and a relentless pursuit of truth,
you’re in the right place.

If you’re unsure of what path to follow or disillusioned with the world today and are willing to walk with me along this path I follow, you’ll never be alone. Everyone is welcome and invited to participate as much as they feel comfortable with.

Now, welcome home. I’m Don.
